Love One Another!

Hey B.F.F.’s, Happy Sunday!

This week, I started a new devotional to help with all the emotions I have been experiencing lately. The devotional name is How To Love People You Disagree With, and during the first 3 days of it, I was reminded of a few things that we as children of God must always do, and that is to walk in love, be respectful, and show empathy. This is especially true now at a time when it seems easier to be angry. Everywhere you turn, the spirit of division, chaos, and mess is present, and unity is difficult because we are mad at what’s going on in the world, but we have to walk in love no matter what. Yes, I know that all of the previously mentioned things are usually hard to do because our flesh is often weak, and we are very emotional beings. Lol well, let me just speak for myself. I am emotional, and I naturally have a heart for others, so much so that sometimes I feel like I’m carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders. If I had things my way, we would all get along, show each other grace, and empathize with one another but if you think about it in a world full of billions of people, there is not one person who is exactly like you. We will never completely agree with one another, so our viewpoints on current events, life, relationships, politics, and whatever else you can insert will all be different, but if you walk in love that is key! This devotional basically summed it up for me

Love considers others first.

Love looks for the best.

Love shows respect.

Love seeks unity.

Love isn’t selfish.

Love offers the best.

Love displays patience.

Loving others involves pain.

Love means giving of yourself.

Love means putting your heart out for someone to potentially wound. Love means being selfless and thinking about the needs of others before we think of our own. We’ll never love someone without discomfort accompanying it. It isn’t easy and is sometimes unnatural, but loving others is something we’re called to do as followers of Jesus. Even people we don’t agree with. Especially people we don’t agree with.”

So this week I challenge you to meditate on this scripture in ‭‭John‬ ‭13:34-35‬ ‭MSG‬‬ it reads as follows "Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way, I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other.”

B.F.F.'s , Ladies and Gents on this Sunday don’t forget to walk in love!! This month we have decided to celebrate fathers who are doing exceptional jobs living boldly, freely, and faithfully through Christ. Brittany, I are both single mothers, and yet we still choose to walk in love and shower these amazing fathers in love.

This week’s father is none other than Mr. Bayley Scott! (lol or as I call him Mr. Aye Bay Bay!)

Bayley is a single full time father who has full custody of his 12-year-old autistic son Ramone. During this interview, we got the chance to ask Bayley about his life as a single father and what that looks like. Bayley keeps his circle small, and he lets us know that you can't have too many people in your business while you're raising your kids, but having a great support system is vital. Make sure that you have one or two people that you can vent to and don't keep it bottled in. Being a parent is hard work, and you have to stay solid, especially as black fathers and black men to support each other through parenthood. So don't forget to be there for each other but most of all remember to LOVE ONE ANOTHER!

To see what else Bayley had to say check out his full interview below

Until next time with love, grace, and a happy face, we hope and pray that you are living a bold, free, and faithful life in Christ.
