Hey, B.F.F’s! Happy Sunday!
We are finally getting back in the swing of things, and I’d like to say thank you all for taking the time out of your weekly schedule to read our post!
Brittany and I are incredibly grateful to have you apart of our Bff community!
So again a big THANK YOU to you all!
This week we chose to talk about the importance of saving and being financially stable. If it hasn’t done anything else, this pandemic has shown me that I have to learn how to save and budget better. Don’t get me wrong I think I am disciplined, and I’m not bad at doing so, but I still have a few things to learn. I can’t speak for anyone but myself, but I didn’t have a substantial cushy saving to fall back on when this pandemic hit, but I was fortunate to have a job still and get paid. Had I not been this blessed, life could have been much harder during this time. Think about it. If we are all brutally honest, most of us live paycheck to paycheck. Sometimes it’s hard to put money away because you feel like there is no extra to put away. So recently, I downloaded an app called Digit to help me with this. Digit is the smart financial assistant that helps you to achieve your goals without even thinking about it. Pay off debt, plan a vacation, save for a house, or put a little aside for a rainy day. I chose two of those options,
1. to save for a rainy day and
2. to help pay my credit card payment.
Not only has Digit come in handy because it’s doing all the leg work, but it is effortless to use and set up. Every day it checks your account to see how much you can save, and if there isn’t enough money in your account, it will not move any money to the savings account. Every day it also notifies me of how much money is in my account and how much it has put away to help me save. However, After the first thirty days, it charges you a 2.99 monthly fee, but it’s well worth it and beneficial to me. I know that if I need the money, it’s easily accessible and can be deposited right back into my account, but in the meantime, the money is being saved and put away to be used for whatever I may need it for. In my case, there are funds set aside for a rainy day and Digit also makes my monthly credit card payment right from the money it has saved for that purpose.
If you would Like to try this app to help you save, I have included a link that will explain a little more and give you 5 dollars to start saving with Digit!
